St. Matilda is a great saint to seek intercession from on behalf of secular leaders, and Church leaders whose leadership is more influenced by secular matters than the True Faith.

Novena to St. Anthony of Padua

We have probably all prayed to St. Anthony when we are looking for a misplaced item. My keys, eye glasses and phone are the first things that come to my mind. (At least weekly, if you’re wondering.) Do you know why? Because when a novice decided to leave the hermitage they were both staying at, he stole Anthony’s valuable handwritten book of Psalms. When Anthony discovered it was missing, he prayed it would be found or returned to him. The thief did return the book and in an extra step returned to the Order as well.
He is especially invoked and venerated all over the world as the patron saint for the recovery of lost items and is credited with many miracles involving lost people, lost things and even lost spiritual goods. He’s the patron saint of the poor, lost things, oppressed people, lost souls and lost people. His feast day is June 13.
